Kim Erkonen's path to financial planning was shaped by life experience. Early in life, Kim lost her father and witnessed firsthand how overwhelming financial uncertainty can be while her mother raised three young children on her own. For Kim, money has always carried meaning far beyond dollars and cents. It's a reflection of hard work, resilience, and possibility.
With decades of industry experience and a genuine heart for the people she serves, Kim brings a calm, thoughtful, and approachable presence to financial planning. She is especially passionate about helping clients, and women in particular, feel informed, comfortable, and supported. Her goal is to make complex topics easier to understand and to help families feel confident knowing they have a plan in place to care for the people they love.
A Brandon resident for years, Kim and her husband Scott raised their four children there and now enjoy life as empty-nesters - sharing adventures, hikes, and plenty of attention to their very spoiled black lab, Gus.
Professionally, Kim completed her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 1995 and earned her MBA with an emphasis in Finance in 2000. Committed to lifelong learning, Kim is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in Sioux Falls, SD and holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), and the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor™ designations. She also maintains her Series 7, 6, 63, and 65 registrations, along with Life and Health Insurance licenses.
